A Great Sign

Usually it’s weird to see a sign in your yard (and can be a bit heartbreaking when it’s a For Sale sign), but this time it was great to come home to find this sign in the yard!  It got a little weird there at the end—the owner of the home we were renting had a deal to sell it.  No one even came to look at it, so we were really surprised.  The person who bought it though is a local business man who buys up higher end houses to rent out.  So we were packing up and getting ready to close on our own home and had to work with appraisers and inspectors at the rental as well.  It was a crazy couple of weeks for sure—but in the end that sale saved us a bunch of money I have no doubt!!  The guy we were renting from is not an evil man—but he IS CHEAP!!!  He tried to stick us with as much as he could the almost 2 years we were there.  He’s a lawyer too, so he had the wording and slipperiness to cover himself just enough.  It was crazy!  So, I do believe this was an answer to prayer for us (and for him too, as he never wanted to be a landlord, but due to the economy he had to hold onto the house as long as he did).  We closed on our house on a Friday and he closed on this house on the following Tuesday.

Look at that rent!!  Yes, it says $1500 a month!!  Crazy!!  They will get it too!  Rentals are nuts here!  We did not pay that much because we signed a 2 year lease.  Now we own a very nice home on 4 acres and lots of extras and pay LESS than we did for rent!!  That is just nuts!
