Lucy has been a HUGE help this move!! She is strong, with a nice strong YOUNG back, and she loves to organize (such my daughter!).
I gave her tasks in the kitchen and I loved watching her—she would lay everything out on the island so she could see it all and then go to town organizing and putting away! She completely took care of her own room and Clara’s room, as well as the bathroom. In fact, since being here I have gone in their rooms very few times—I have been able to focus on other areas. To date I have almost the downstairs done. Living room, dining area, kitchen, and as of today school room. Each needs a little tweaking. The laundry room/mud room needs a little work and eventually the garage will be converted to a rec room—but it’s getting there. The hallway down here is cluttered and that is on my project list for tomorrow—to clear that out and get some things hung.
I have really been amazed with this move by how happy and blessed our animals are. I knew of course that God loves animals—He created them too. I guess I just never really thought much about His depth of love for them. Each one of our animals is so much happier here. They were not miserable pets before—but I swear they are all smiling since being here! For the cats, there are tons of windows and from each window it is like we are in a tree house. There are deep sills too, so they can sit and watch the wildlife! There are nooks and crannies all over the place that they enjoy. Felix would cry every morning at the old place to go outside. He was allowing in the back yard since there was a high fence he was unable to jump over. He loved it and wanted out every day! I knew he was not going to be allowed out here since there is no fence. He hasn’t “asked” to go out even once! Well, not fully true, the girls had Clara’s window open upstairs and he jumped out it onto the roof. Lol!! Lucy was right on that though and snatched him back into the house—silly cat! Other than that, he has been totally content sitting in the windows feeling like he is outside!
I did a post earlier tonight on how happy Bella is—here is just another example—she has friends! This is just one of the little buddies that comes to visit. Bella absolutely loves other dogs, so this neighborhood is totally perfect for her! To see her run and play in complete joyful bliss is so heart warming!
Mouse is still outside of course. He has a great spot right outside the kitchen door. He can watch us through that door and a large sliding door to the school room. He has the deck area and enjoys the back yard. He has bushes that work great as a “house” and he seems very content here! I have seen him down by the pool, but really just the first day or two as he was checking it all out. Now he sticks close and is getting into a routine.
Fluffy adjusted quite well as well! He hated the drive over of course—and even though I didn’t feed him the whole day of the move, he still had a blow out on the way. It wasn’t too bad as he was mostly empty, but it was enough to smell up the car and was in need of a mini bath when he got here! Yep, that’s how we christen the kitchen sink!!
