Clara’s Tour

A couple of weeks ago we had to go to Savannah, GA for a quite visit.  Clara was very excited about going back to the city of her birth and really wanted to see the hospital and house she was born in.

I remember being rolled out of those doors with Clara in my arms and Santa and one of his elves was there to greet us.  They were on their way up to see the kids in the hospital and we were fortunate enough to see them on the way out.  Santa got to hold Clara and both of them cried while looking at her  :)  It was very special.  The only thing that could have made that more special is if Lucy was with us for our departure to see Santa and an elf!!

There is the house we were living in.  The window to the right of the door was Clara’s room.  The far right window was Lucy’s room and ours was in the back of the house.  There is such mixed emotions looking at this house---we were only there for a year, but so much happened while living there!!  The highs were having our precious Clara, being baptized (both Mike and I), and Lucy, getting to see her blossom in her new role as big sister!  The lows were the fact that we underwent our largest struggles in our marriage in this house (and the next).  By the grace of God we made it through, and of course looking back there is no surprise that our marriage was under such attack given our growing relationships with Jesus.  I would not change that time at all however, as our marriage not only survived that trial but is stronger now because of that time!!  God truly does mean what He says in Rom. 8:28---He does work it all for good!!
