I have been awful at keeping up with the blog lately! Partly because our computer died and we ended up having to get a new hard drive. Thankfully Mike is handy and was able to do the repair himself, but it still took a while until I was computer buying the hard drive---so we went without a computer for a while. I realize, especially with homeschooling, just how reliant I am on our computer!!! I missed it so very much and am glad to be back to it---however, it is a task getting all the settings back, favorites added, etc, etc so it functions like it did before. Slowly but surely though we are getting there :) I am thankful too that since we lost a hard drive several years ago, and thus lost most of all our pictures of Clara's first year of life, I am diligent about backing up now on an external hard drive, so at least nothing major was lost!!
We have been so busy getting used to our new schedule including Girl Scouts (which the girls LOVE), speech class, co-op, as well as all the field trips and parties that take place! I have lots of pictures to post, and will get to that---eventually :) Last Friday we attended a Back to School Sock Hop and had a great time! This Friday evening we have a pumpkin carving, cookout birthday party to go to. Then on Sat. is Mike's birthday and we are gearing up for Lucy's birthday too.
Every year we try to take an Oct. trip for all our birthdays and this years was going to be a trip to Six Flags in Dallas. I don't know that we are going to be able to swing it though financially. So many other extras coming with the holidays and birthdays.... Oh well... My reward to myself for losing the weight was a trip to an amusement park too since I could stand in line for rides and NOT worry about fitting on the ride!! My one year out from surgery is Oct. 19th, but now that we have moved there are no amusment parks close by so they require over night stays. We get one free night with LaQuinta from all the stays moving here, but we figured we would need 2 nights. Then gas and food. The tickets themselves really aren't too bad if you order them in advance. We had decided that if we do the trip it will not be until Dec. when it is decorated for Christmas and not in Oct. when Fright Fest is going on. Anyway, we shall see...
We celebrated our 15 year anniversary on the 14th which was wonderful!! Any year that Mike comes home with a job on our anniversary is a good one :) (it was on our 13th that he lost his job the first time).
Today for school I am calling it Home Ec day and we are doing laundry and cleaning and getting some projects done like making cards for Daddy and the party on Friday and making gifts. I love the flexibility :)
I will update more when I have more time, and will love to be caught up with the pictures :)
