Beaver Spa

Yesterday I posted about the beaver remains we found at the river.  Well, Skelly, the beaver, has brought our family much joy---we named him, make jokes about him, and now say sentences one would never expect to say  :)

I have researched how to clean this fella up, and found the best way (I hope) is to fill his tub with water and add a bit of dish detergent.  So today the girls and I moved Skelly to the front yard (because Bella really wanted to “play" with it), and created Beaver Spa.  This evening Mike and Clara were running out and called from the car to inform us that a bird had entered Beaver Spa and couldn’t get out.  It was not a great connection and I kept having him repeat what he was saying, which was “There is a bird stuck in the beaver water.”  I had to laugh (see what I mean by a sentence never uttered before, lol).

We go outside to find that indeed a bird did find out that too much of a good thing is not good.  The poor little guy was on the bony tail which was the only place he could perch and keep his head above water.  Bless his little heart!  Cheryl gloved up and saved his life---the bird flew away, wet but fine (and probably a bit stinky) and we have now closed up shop in Beaver Spa.  The lid will ensure that no more animals are potentially harmed in the quest of science.
