Trojan Horse

Today in co-op it was my first time teaching the 1st-3rd graders Mystery of History. I really enjoyed it and I believe the kids did as well (I just hope they actually learned something :)

Part of the lesson we learned was about the legend of the Trojan Horse. I brought two boxes in and had girls vs. boys decorate them up like a gift (a Trojan Horse) and then we acted out the legend. The kids had so much fun decorating the boxes! There really is no need to buy expensive things for kids----what they really want is just a box!! :)

Here are the girls with their Trojan horse above. We were short a few students due to illnesses so the teams were a bit uneven, but they managed just fine :)

Here are the boys with their Trojan Horse.

Once the reenactment was complete, it was time to just ram into each other in their horses :)
