We have hung fliers and posted on the website trying to find Fluffy's owners. No one is claiming him. He has a nasty cut on the side of his head that is just getting worse and worse and finally today we had to make the decision to get him to the vet.
Fluffy is spending the night at the vets office and they will be doing some minor surgery to drain and sew up his cut. It is healed, but didn't heal closed because it was never stitched. He also has a nasty infection on that side of his head with inflamed lymph nodes. Poor little thing!! We had him checked for feline aids and leukemia and thank God he is negative on both of those counts. We did find out that he is definitely NOT fixed, so that will need to be done for sure. We are praying they can do it this visit while he will already be under the anesthesia and that will save us a good bit of money, but the vet thinks the infection may well be too bad to be able to do that. So, given the money we are putting into this cat---he is OURS for sure now :) He is the sweetest thing!! Especially for not being fixed, even the vet was surprised---he purred through the whole exam. Well, not the whole thing----he does NOT want his temp taken in his butt. Then again---who would :) Fluffy wasn't a problem getting in the carrier thankfully. He did talk to us all the way to the vet's office. He does tend to be a talker anyway. This is one cat we are finding who likes to have the last word!!
Now our prayer is that he comes through this all fine of course, but that he will use the liter! He will have to recover in the house (or in the garage if he won't use liter), and also that all our cats will get along (in particular Mouse and Fluffy since they are both males).
So, that is the news on Fluffy so far---until tomorrow at least. We are quite attached to him now. Even Mike :)
