This year the homeschool fall festival was my responsibility to put on (well mine, and another woman). I have been to it the last 2 years, but when you are in charge you realize how much more goes into to it then just showing up with your dish :)
Another homeschool family pastors the Methodist church and every year they put out a very large “Pumpkin Patch”. The homeschool organization gives a donation and we get the left over pumpkins. I was planning on going the day before the event to pick them up, but people started stealing the pumpkins—yes, stealing from a church!! So, we had to head out in the rain to gather what we could before there were none left…
fortunately the heavy rain had stopped. I was unable to get as many pumpkins as I had hoped (we use them for decorating and games, so the more the better), so I thought I should get extra hay :)
Mike was able to come help—and I would have hated for him to miss out on all this fun!
Transporting the hay!
Loading the hay…
I didn’t actually get any pictures at the event—was too busy visiting and doing things :) It went beautifully and we had perfect weather! Another church was having a fall festival that night so they took a lot of the pumpkins—but we still have several left and I brought them home. Mike is working on a shooting range—and guess what he plans to use as targets? :)
