Daraja Children’s Choir

This past Wed. we had such a wonderful treat—we got to see the Daraja Children’s Choir from Uganda at church!  Our house church was in charge of the meet and greet before the concert so we got to get to meet them, and eat with them—and to say these are special kids would be such an understatement!!

Here they are leading us in worship!  It was the purest worship I have ever seen!  These kids GET IT!!  Far more than most of us do, that is for sure!  We got to watch some video of them back home, and they come from nothing!  They walk miles to get water, they walk 40 min to school (for the young ones that go—by age 9 they no longer get to go), they live in dirt floor huts.  The smiles and the joy these kids have though is priceless!!  They understand the love of Christ, His provision, and JOY more than most!  It was truly inspiring to meet them!!

One of the women I met actually sponsors one of the kids and she was so excited to meet her in person!!  Made me think of our little Erick and how we may actually get to meet him one day!!

This is right after the concert.  All total there are 24 kids that travel.  They got to stay out at Camp Ch-Yo-Ca for the week and had such a great time out there!  What a perfect spot to house them, and the weather was perfect!!  In fact, it has been such a mild summer so far it is very hard to believe it is now July!!  Their bus broke down and they had to stay one extra day and there was a CASA camp going on they were able to be part of and I know from the some of the people I know there that it was truly meant to be they were there for that as it was an amazing experience for everyone!!

We will be keeping these kids in prayer—for their safe travels and for health, safety, provision, and ability to do all they do!!  Truly amazing kids!!
