Blood Bath

We have been accident prone around here the past couple of days.

While helping with dinner two nights ago Clara found out that knives are very good at what they do—cutting!  She sliced her thumb pretty good!  Man was that a bleeder!!  Freaked Lucy out big time!!  It isn’t in need of stitches, and is looking good and healing well, but they certainly have a greater respect for knives :)

Leaving testing yesterday Lucy was stepping down from a step onto a cement stoop and slipped (we are so uncoordinated!).  Here is the result of that!  Looks nasty but she’ll live :)

We have started doing yoga (a friend is becoming certified as a yoga instructor and is offering free classes for a few months to reach her goal).  We are really loving the stretching—and are hoping it helps with our balance  LOL!  We shall see.

In other news—Mike should be receiving his official offer from Voith next week.  We are praying and trust God will be very clear on what He would have Mike do.  It does seem like an incredible opportunity—we shall see!  It is very different of course going through this process when you already have a good job and there is nothing to loose :)  We praise God for that!!

We are still having some plumbing issues which are really getting old!!  Waiting for a plumber to get here right now in fact…praying they find the problem and it is a quick, cheap, easy fix!!  It is coming up from the cement below the kitchen island---which puts it out of Mike’s ability range—mainly because we don’t have the right tools for the job.  While he’s here I’m thinking we may get an estimate for the master bath project we know is coming.

We found out there are scorpions in the area—just judging by the one we killed in the kitchen!!  Yuck!!

Mike and I have started helping out with Lucy’s age group in the drama department at church.  We are excited about that!

We are gearing up for our first big party here (unless the plumbing issues cause us to have to postpone).  We really hope not as we are excited to have people over for swimming and fellowship (over 50 people are invited too!).  The pool still looks great and we are happy as can be with how well the salt water filter works!  Mike just about has the wood around the pool done (it is currently in the garage as we just finished sealing it yesterday).  That’s about ready for install and that project gets checked off the list.  I’m excited too as we used cedar and have left over wood which will make wonderful raised beds!!

The girls and I have a field trip to see the behind the scenes at a local grocery store.  The jury is out whether we will go or not though—depends on the plumbing…  I think that is about it here—Life is good!!  :)
