Fluffy’s New Best Friends

Clara got some fish for Christmas from a friend and it took a little while for Fluffy to notice them, but when he did, he sure did!!

This apparently is the best drinking water in the house!!  A delicacy in fact!!  I can move him to his water (that I will pour fresh from the filtered water in the fridge even) and he will jump right back up and go back at it!  The only way to make that water better is to add fish flake to it!  Oh yum!!  That is totally irresistible!!

Of course, he will from time to time notice there are things moving around in HIS water bowl and he will feel the need to try to get at them.  So far though, the paw has only gone in the bowl a couple of time and never very deep—so it does appear the fish are safe.  Usually he is trying to get them through the bowl on the outside, which he enjoys, but is not very effective.

I realize fish are not known as very smart creatures, and I am reminded of that each time I see Fluffy drinking from the top and the fish will join him up there—right near his mouth.  One tried to nibble on his neck fur that was in the water.  I count every day, and every day there are still 3 fish though to my surprise.

Fluffy absolutely loves to be on this little table.  He is so cute!  We have noticed that since his mouth is in there so often now though that the bowl needs to be cleaned twice a week no instead of just once.  We do have to keep a gallon jug nearby with extra water at the ready as he does drink them quite low too.  Otherwise, we enjoy watching the interaction.  We have really enjoyed the fish and are glad they are here :)

Felix does not get up here as he is unable to jump that high, and he can’t span the distance from the table to the cart.  He was enjoying laying on the table and watching their movement, but he is over that now and hardly ever notices them.
