The Village is Complete

In an earlier post I explained how we made “gingerbread” houses using graham crackers, and how Lucy and the grahams did not get along for the project.  I still have to download the pics off the camera of the food fight (hoping to get that done today as well—and then I will be caught up on posts—yeah!!!).  Lucy calmed down and eventually tried her hand at another house and she did great!!

And the winner is….Lucy over the graham crackers!!!  Applause!!

So, here is our completed graham cracker/gingerbread house village!  The story is that Mike’s is the church.  Mine is the church office building.  Clara has the garden and pool in the back.  And Lucy’s is the pastors house next door.

The pictures really don’t do Lucy’s justice.  On the roof she has spelled out “Joy”.  On the side (which can barely be seen in the above picture) she has Merry Christmas written out on the side.  There are gifts on the front porch and icicles hanging around the roofline.  The columns are made from gumdrops.  It is very impressive!

I am glad that Lucy went back and conquered this obstacle!  We learn valuable lessons through our mistakes.  Frustration is ok—albeit frustrating  LOL, but once we get past that we find we can see things much more clearly.  Often times too, we see that once we are on the other side and it didn’t come easy that we appreciate it all the more.  Good life lessons to be found in this village  :)
