In earlier posts I have pictures of the family sitting down to make a nice little graham cracker village. It all started off so nicely! Once Lucy got into a fight with the graham cracker goo she had created, and LOST, she threw some of the goo on the floor. Well that could not go unpunished :) I still had the nasty cake from Clara’s birthday in the fridge—my plan was to take Lucy and the cake OUTSIDE to smoosh it all over Lucy (and anyone else who happened to be there). Well, I’m not sure how exactly it happened, but the cake didn’t make it outside. The bad news is that it was a MESS!!! The good news is that we were all sparkling clean as was the kitchen when it was all said and done :)
Mike in the aftermath.
Lucy got the worst of it for two reasons—it was her fight with the graham crackers that started this, she did the first throw, her attitude is whose needed changing (she was really fighting with that stuff), and she missed the smoosh fest last time we did it.
After being covered she was still determined to make her creation work (no, it never did, but you will see in the next post that she did come back hours later and did a beautiful job!).
I think this is actually what happened—I got it in the eye, I had the cake, and therefore the cake didn’t make it outside—1. I couldn’t see (LOL) and 2. payback had to be swift!
Clara is not so much on the whole getting to be a dirty, nasty mess, so she ran out fast. She was not completely spared though, and she was the first one to jump in the shower (partly because she hates to be dirty like that, and partly—ok, mostly, because the clean up of the kitchen had started).
The main goal was accomplished—Lucys attitude changed, she was smiling and laughing and seeing the humor in it. I mean, it’s a good lesson that graham crackers and icing should never get the best of us!
Nailed it!! I really do need to do a post like the have on CraftFail with this being the end product LOL!
Now that is some mother, daughter bonding :)
