Cat Condo

Mike had a project the other weekend of making a cat condo.  We have looked at them in stores before and they are NOT cheap!!  Felix has gotten worse at clawing stuff up, so we thought a carpeted condo would help him target that and I wouldn’t have to squirt him so often. 

Mike got the tubes from work, they are used to roll the paper they make.  The wood we had from a previous project, and the carpet we got from Surplus Warehouse using a gift card we won at their open house—so this cat condo cost us the amount of a can of spray adhesive!!  Yeah!!  Can’t beat that!  We drew up plans and he took it from there.  The girls and I made pictures for the cats and decoupaged them inside the “house” as wallpaper.

The cats absolutely love it!!  As I type Fluffy is perched on top (his spot).  They do claw it as intended and it has helped them not claw other things!!  They are always on it in some fashion, and it seems to have brought out Fluffy’s acrobatic inner cat—since this has been in place he has been so much more playful and has been flying through the air and doing crazy stunts—who would have thought?!!
