I have not had a chance to publish lately. I did just get a few quick posts done, but there is more I need to do....in time...
Just wanted to document a few things that have taken place. Last weekend, for Labor Day, a past co worker of Mike from his days at Parker in Beaufort, SC came for the weekend. He was here to interview for Mike's old job (his interview was on Tuesday). His wife used to work for Mike--so it was quite a reunion! We had a great time with them! We did a lot of driving around showing them anything and everything in this area, but we did get to just have some fun too. We hung out at the hotel pool for a while, went out to eat (a big treat for us since we never go out to eat anymore)--even got to try many different types of sushi since this is such a favorite for Jay. He very much enjoyed watching the kids try different types of fish, and as most are, was amazed at Clara in particlar and her LOVE of raw fish!!
While at the Japanese restaurant, they were cooking in front of us and putting on quite a show. The chef was throwing food into our mouths and when he would throw it at Clara she would always close her eyes, so the food was just bouncing off her head/face. It was hilarious to watch! Afterwards, Clara looks at me and says just as seriously as anything, "we must have ordered hit the daughter in the face." I told that to Jay and his wife and he starting choking on his drink, trying desperately not to spit it out. It was so funny! Then Clara needed to go to the rest room and while in there she says "I made a good joke didn't I" I said "yes, you did" she then says, "yep, youve got to hand it to me." I laughed and said "yes, indeed." Then she says, "no, literally, you have to hand it to me, I'm out of toilet paper here." That kid just cracks me up!!
The interview went very well and it appears that this couple liked the area. We know that Brian would make an offer now, but they still have one more candidate to interview so we shall see...
In other news, the girls and I have a real treat coming up on Sunday!! We have been invited by a dear friend to go with her family to Great Wolf Lodge in Dallas!! I have heard such great things about this place! It is a promotional time for homeschoolers! The family we do CC with will be there and another family from this homeschool group will be there too! Pam got a big room and invited us to go at no charge!! What a blessing!! We are so excited I don't think any of us are going to sleep! Mike will stay home :( I love though that he said that was fine, he would go to church and house church by himself on Sunday and be plenty busy. How awesome that he feels so at home there! We will be leaving early Sunday morning and come back Tuesday. Pam teaches speech which meets on Tuesday at 1--so I suspect we will go from Dallas straight to speech class :) Her husband will be working as well--so just us women and 5 kids! So excited!!!
