Mission Arlington

We are a part of a local ministry called Live It Out that tries to find a different mission service to do each month.  The big summer mission was going to Arlington TX and serving with Mission Arlington.  We were super excited to get to go---both to get to have a trip with friends and to serve people in need!

This is the group that went minus 3 that met us there (they have family in that area and went up a few days before).  We only knew two of these families before going, and now I feel like we’ve known them all forever  :)  I added both pictures because Clara cracks me up!

This whole experience was phenomenal.  The trip went super smooth and fell into place.  It was very blessed, no doubt about that!  All the kids got along great, all the adults fulfilled a role in the group that wasn’t even discussed beforehand which is always super cool when you get to see God work that out, without us even knowing it, but then getting the chills later on when realizing the work He put into it all  :)  We all have said we really want to make this an annual event, and we are already super excited about going next year!  We will have to request that we get to work with the same kids as that would be super!!  I hope that Mike will be able to take time off and join in too!

We did a variety of things—cleaning up apartment complexes (I didn’t get any pictures of that), and the rest of time we were at the same apartment complex to help with the children’s program.

Mission Arlington is truly a Metroplex and have such an array of services they provide—from medical, to feeding, to cleaning—you name it, they do it!  If your group is looking for a wonderful way to serve, I do highly recommend you look into this mission, or others like it.  I have never felt called into missions personally, as I thought of them as long distance.  But local missions—now that’s a different story!  We try to do things in our own community, through Live It Out, our homeschool community, and church—but the bonding and uniting that takes place with a trip like this is priceless!!

There are many posts after this all from this trip.  The last post is Six Flags.  I’m so happy to have them all done before we leave again next week for a camping trip with family :)  Lots to post I am sure when we get back from that---wow, June has been crazy!!  Good though, praise God!
