The girls and I had the opportunity to go visit South Louisiana with a true Cajun :) My friend’s daughter sings at lots of events and she had been asked to sing for the Senate My friend grew up down there—in Rayne, the Frog Capital of the World! It was fun experiencing Cajun country! We got to stay with her family which was a lot of fun!!
I took the girls for a walk and we stopped at a neighbors house and the girls got ice cream!!
We went geocaching. Actually in this park above was one of my most favorite caches we have found—very clever! B and her family had never geocached before! After we got back from this walk, we all went out together as a large group and found about 8 more!! Her family was hooked, and I have since heard from her niece that they have continued to go every spare chance they get :)
Since it is the Frog Capital, they have statues and paintings all throughout the town of frogs in clever ways. We really enjoyed going through town and hunting out all the frog stuff!
A cool cemetery which wasn’t a far walk (and also had a geocache) was featured in the Guinness Book of world Records because it is the only cemetery in the US that faces the way it does (I can’t remember right now if they go north to south or east to west---I also never realized that all cemeteries are positioned the same way—except this one of course :)
