Lucy takes a Magic School Bus class at co-op and one of our projects was to make a volcano to bring in to erupt :)
Making the volcano was just as much fun as actually erupting it! We made clay from flour and salt, built it up around a soda bottle, and gave Lucy plenty of room to “play”!
I should have gotten more pictures of her during the building process. She enjoyed this so much!
Here she is at co-op proudly displaying her creation!
There is a whole story about what is going on here! The Avatar has set off the volcano, and the animals are running for their lives. Flounder can’t run anywhere since he is a fish, but he has a nice little pond to hang out in (right corner of the pic above).
It was so much fun to see all the creations the kids came up with! Using an array of materials!
There is Mrs. Kristie, her teacher.
There she blows (you can’t see it well in the pictures, but it did work very well). It worked super with her story too----the lava flowed in all the right places, filling up the pond and even stayed away from the animals!
Adding more vinegar to get maximum effect!

I was a teacher's assistant in Magic School Bus in our co-op last year. :) That is a fun class.
