Gone Fishin’

The girls had their first experience with fishing the other day.  We went to a friends house and they have a wonderful place on the bayou.  It is so nice sitting out there watching the water, but then we all decided that we needed to catch something  :)  The girls have been wanting to fish for a while so this was a perfect opportunity.

As expected, Clara wasn’t too into it, too much patience needed.  To sit there with a rod and sit when you can be on the trampoline, running around, climbing a tree, or playing Wii—or any number of other things—well there is just no contest for her.  Lucy on the other hand did quite well.  She enjoyed it, although she wouldn’t bait her own hook—but who could blame here there  LOL

I was able to catch two fish (I say I did, but I think technically they were Mike’s catches—he baited my line, I threw it in, and then he is the one who noticed it was bobbing as I was too busy chatting.  He grabbed my line and brought in the fish—so really I had very limited input into the whole thing.  Lucy caught one right after she quit—go figure  :)  She handed her pole over to Mike and as soon as she walked away there was one on the line.

All the fish were too small to eat and they were all thrown back, but it was fun and very enjoyable!
