MONUMENTAL: In Search of America's National Treasure

MONUMENTAL: In Search of America's National Treasure

Last night the girls and I had a date night out to have dinner and see the movie Monumental for the one time only live event.  The documentary was wonderful and really should be seen by ALL Americans.  We have been learning American history this year in our school which has been fascinating!  I do not understand for the life of me how it is possible to take God out of history---without God there is no America!!

We had some very cool God winks that excited us!  We got the theatre and there was a man that greeted us asking if we were there to see Monumental.  I said yes, and he explained that he had pre bought tickets for himself and his 3 grand kids, but they had to go out of town.  He wanted to give us the 3 extra tickets!!  What a blessing!!  We chatted with him quite a while in line for popcorn--super nice man!  I offered to buy his concessions, but he assured me he just wanted to bless us and wouldn't let me pay for him at all.

Then we watched the movie and afterwards Kirk Cameron came back on from his home for the live portion of the event.  After a minute or so the feed was lost.  Everyone in the theatre waited a while and then started heading out.  As we were congregating in the hallway, they came around passing out rain checks, so now we get to see another movie for free!!!

We got to visit with many friends which was a lot of fun, and we also met a couple with a seeing eye dog that were at the movie.  We got to pet the dog, Blazer, and talk to the couple about life with a seeing eye dog.  It was awesome!!  So what turned out to be a history field trip--turned out to be double field trip  :)  What was so super impressive is that when the man was holding the dogs leash, the dog was "off duty" and was loving all the attention.  When the man took hold of the harness, the dog knew he was "working" and was all business!  It was amazing to watch!

It was a great night  :)  Thank You God for the blessings!!

If Monumental is not being shown in a theatre in your area, contact your theatre and request it---very worth it!

That is so awesome. I so want to see it. I may have to wait until Kirk Cameron releases it to DVD.
