New Life

We have always told the girls that when they felt they were ready, with much prayer, and knew what it meant fully to be baptized then it was time.  Clara decided a few months ago that it was her time  :)  She was SO excited for the day to finally come!  Our church does not have a permanent baptismal, and when the weather is warmer they actually do them in the river (which would be so cool---so like Jesus).  This was wonderful too though and the joy and excitement Clara had made it super special!  She was able to ask anyone to do the honors and she asked her Daddy!  What a special time for the two of them!

Here they are just before.  I really wish I had videotaped instead of taking still shots as it does not truly capture the excitement!

When she first entered the baptismal she yelled out “Wow, that’s cold!”  LOL!

I missed all the great shots---her submerged, and then after right before the picture above, she posed for the church and yelled out with excitement!

The week before this event we were supposed to go to Atlanta with Mike on a business trip.  When we would talk about that trip, she was excited about it, but would always say the most exciting part of it was that when she got back from Atlanta she was getting baptized!  We didn’t end up going to Atlanta due to my back issues, but as long as the baptism wasn’t canceled she was fine with that!

The night before, she jumped into bed with Mike and I at about 4 am and asked every half hour or so “is it time yet?!!”  It’s like it was Christmas morning.  I love it!!

We are so very proud of you sweet Clara!!
