Last week we did the Idea Place which is part of LA Tech. We are really finding the universities around here are a wealth of things to do for very cheap!!
The girls above are in the planetarium. I LOVE planetariums and haven’t been to one in quite a while, so I was thrilled this was part of the day!
In the hands on portion of the museum the girls had a great time exploring! Clara particularly loved the bubble table.
It was so cool because earlier in the day (on the way to the museum) it was foggy out and Clara was asking me about how fog is formed. I did my best to explain it, but in the hands on portion there was a demonstration and it was awesome to be able to bring that back to our conversation of earlier and reinforce that lesson!
There was Spooktacular Experiments that were also part of the educational program.
Lucy got to help out with the “ghost scream” experiment. Good thing we just practiced her up for this with her birthday party being the weekend before this---she got to blow up lots of balloons and got quite good at tying them off!
Another experiment (I would call it more of a demonstration than an experiment), but it was this goo worm. The chemicals take the liquid and make it more of a solid when combined and then the kids could play with the “worm”.
Eeeewwwww! Of course, they had to obliterate their worms!
