Clara was a Cheetah for the day of Halloween. I will post later our Trunk or Treat at church in which we were all pumpkins (all together we were a pumpkin patch, which went with the theme of our car). I don’t believe I ever did get a pic of all of us together though----go figure.
Clara had been saying she wanted to be a Cheetah (her favorite animal) since we found the ears at a dollar store for $1 a while back. I had to throw the rest together fairly last minute and I was thrilled with how it came out and the best part of all is it only cost $1!!
Using clothes Clara already had (tan pants and her tan jacket) I just pinned felt circles all over (this was fairly time consuming to cut out the felt and do the pinning, but Clara was a big help with getting out, and untangled, all the pins). Using body crayons (and eyeliner) I painted her face. Throw on the ears and a dog toy for a tail and she was good to go!! Clara was so excited with her costume!
Lucy was in charge of her costume this year as we had SO much going on this month and she is old enough. She procrastinated and at the last minute decided to go as a pumpkin again. We did add a little make up to her face using the body crayons---I mean when the crayons come out you just HAVE to use them!
There’s two of the pumpkins in our patch! I needed a shirt big enough to fit over multiple layers as it has gotten rather cold here, and I was happy to find this at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 and then painted the face on it. I outlined all the pumpkin faces with glow in the dark paint, and affixed to some headbands felt leaves/stem.
Mike went as a cowboy. He was a cute pumpkin, but his face I affixed to his shirt with pins because it was a shirt he has and wears and I didn’t want to make it a permanent pumpkin. I disassembled the pumpkin after Trunk or Treat without even thinking we would need it again. I don’t believe Mike was disappointed though---he felt much manlier as a cowboy!!
This little girl was just too cute! At a neighbors house we met her (and her family) at her grandparents, right down the road from us. She was so excited to see Bella and came running---literally jumped from the golf cart she was going to be driven around in and came running and squealing in delight!
I found this doggie costume at Dirt Cheap for $3.00 and we more than got our moneys worth out of it! It comes with a headband too but we decided against the added torture she she wore it at Trunk or Treat (I believe I did get some pics of her in the full get up). Bella is not a fan of being dressed up, but she tolerates us. For Halloween it wasn’t too bad since she got a long walk and lots of attention. The trunk or treat she disliked more as there wasn’t nearly as much walking as she hung out at the car as we manned our area. She still got lots of attention then too, but she was not nearly as in to it.
Hugging on the neighbors' kitten. We have been watching this little kitten grow up from the time she was small enough to fit in one hand. She is precious and reminds us so much of Felix! She purrs loudly and is so super sweet!!!
We went walking around the neighborhood with some friends which was fun!
Clara loved her face make up so much she wouldn’t allow me to take it off for bed and insisted on sleeping in it! Too cute! When she woke up this morning it was pretty much all wore off from the bottom of her eyes and down, but the top remained---go figure!
