Autumn is my most favorite season!! The colors, the smells, the weather, the leaves, the sounds----all of it!!! We celebrated the day after Mike's birthday and the gorgeous weather with taking a picnic to Desoto Caverns. We have heard wonderful things about it there, but have not made it there yet ourselves....it did not disappoint!!

This was a mural going down to the tunnel that takes you down into the caverns. It used to be a big mudslide here apparently and was the only way to enter and exit the caverns. In the 20's during Prohibition they used the caverns as a moonshine business and it soon turned into a tavern. Can you imagine getting in and out of that tavern!! More so getting out LOL Also, this was back in the days that everyone had a pistol and took it everywhere, so many of the stalactites are broken off from gunfire. The tavern was actually shut down in about 6 months :)
