Final Day

Sat. night we slept with the balcony door open and were able to hear the waves all night. It was awesome to wake up and hear that soothing sound! I got up early and sat on the balcony for a long time and saw the sun come up. When the rest of the family joined me we decided to go for a walk on the beach. We brought our shell buckets of course and collected treasures along the way. We went for a long walk (to the pier, down the pier and then back). It is deceiving to look out over a vast amount of sand and think something is "close". It was a great walk, good exercise and very enjoyable though.

Out on the pier we saw people fishing and we even got the treat of sitting in on part of a church service. There is a campground ministry that preaches on the pier every Sunday morning and it was a wonderful setting :) There is no kids area, so we had limited time to join it, but it was very cool :) At the end of the pier Clara was a bit hesitant about getting to the edge. She is afraid of heights (hence the clutching onto Daddy in the above photo :)

Back comfortably on land Clara thought the sand was very much like snow and decided to make "sand angels". It worked very well too :)

Daddy carried our tired little girl part of the way back---there is that sweet smile again :)
