Lucy The Artist

For our homeschool co-op Lucy was in an art class and at the end of the semester they had an art show with all the students and also local artists. It was a great thing they did and really made the kids feel special!

This was right before we left for the show.

This is right when we got to the show. It was held at Restoration Church which used to be a mall. It is really cool how they have it set up now--such an ingenious idea and it functions beautifully!

Here Lucy is explaining her vision to one of the local artists who also had art work displayed (and for sale) here. In this picture the kids were asked to make a picture of something (an animal or bug) and then rip it up and paste it to the paper abstractly and then fill in the gaps somehow.

Now Lucy is explaining her abstract collage. She did a great job of explaining her art work and what it was she was supposed to do. This artist (I can't remember her name) was super, she asked all kinds of questions and was so interested. It was a great experience for Lucy and all the kids.

Clara had enough after a while and Mike took her to the car to watch a movie. I didn't have the heart to tear Lucy away so I let her stay as long as I could. She was having a good time chatting. Here she is with some friends who were also in her art class.
