The Big 9 Year Old

Time sure does fly!!  Clara reminds me almost daily that next year she will be double digits—and I’m just not sure how we got to this stage in life  LOL!  I am loving my little people though, and watching them develop into these amazing young ladies is awesome!

Clara still has her own style!  We went to this little boutique we love and I allowed her to pick out one item (with a limit of course).  The scarf she is wearing was her choice.  She will always go for something soft and pettable.  Lucy goes for the jewelry, Clara for the soft.  (Last year she got a furry hat from here).

Clara let me do something with her hair for her birthday party.  This was a fast and easy, yet really cute way of doing it.  She loved it!

Lets get this party started!!  We did her party a couple of weeks before her actual birthday as once you hit Dec. it is just impossible to add anything else to everyone's schedule!  Her party was at Excalibur and we all had a great time!  She wanted to keep it small so she had adequate time with each one of her friends and I thought that was very smart of her!

The girls are waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive.  Lucy and her photobomb!

Such sweet kids!  Only 1 little girl was unable to come, so it really worked out well.  They had lots of tokens to play, play, play and we did laser tag!!  We are laser tag fanatics in this house!!  So much fun!  It was raining this day, so go carts were out unfortunately, but it still was so much fun and worked out great!

Syd got to come to hang out with Lucy and they too had a great time!

Afterwards we thought we would try out Willies new restaurant, but it was PACKED!  We opted instead to not wait, but go to Cheddars which is always super good!

Clara got her birthday dessert which she thought was super delicious!

Then a trip to Lowes—which wasn’t birthday related, but we had fun anyway!!

We had already decorated the house for Christmas even though we had this early as Clara has always loved Christmas decorations on her birthday!  We had not put up a tree as we knew with 3 kittens it was going to be a fiasco, but we caved in and decided to put up the smaller of the trees we have.  We keep a squirt bottle handy to train them to stay out of the tree.  We did not put lights on it though, and it is a little sad—but Esther got in the tree and darn near hung herself in the lights, and we all decided it was just not worth it this year!  No fun coming home to a dead kitten hanging in the tree—so no lights is just fine with us.  We also opted for non traditional ornaments—not our usual bunch, as we wanted all soft things that will not break.  We love the tree though and think it came out awesome!
