DIY Girls

I get to be a helper in one of Lucy’s classes in co-op—DIY Girls.  It is one of her favorite classes, and I have to admit I am loving it myself!  We have learned all kinds of cool things!  How to make scarves, do nails, hair, and all kinds of tips and tricks!

The class is always riveted!  This is an awesome group of girls!!

Lucy was learning how to make her hair BIG!!  I didn’t get an after pic—in fact I have been slacking big time of picture taking at all—we did a rolled bun (and she wore it out that way for our field trip to the post office, but she has so much hair and it is so heavy it was hurting her neck to wear it for too long and had to take it down).  We found out though if she wears the bun lower it will help with the neck strain, so we will give that another shot.  We have also done waterfall braids, and of course the afters in class I need to start capturing—not just for us but for the yearbook too!

I also help out in one of Clara’s classes—The Big Book of Why (a trivia class).  She is loving that—and once again I have been slacking on taking pics.  Both girls are loving their classes for co-op.  The Science class Lucy is in is a big time science class and it is taking up a lot of our time, but that is ok.  When she did her standardized testing she tested high school level in everything but science and spelling, so we are working on that here and she is doing great!!  It’s a lot of work, but we are getting into the groove.

We do have a week off of co-op this week as we are half way through the semester.  We will use that “extra” time this week to prepare for a 13th birthday sleep over!!  How did this happen??!!!  No way is my little Lucy almost a full fledged teen!!!
