We work on a room and then have to pull things in from another room to work on that room so it is a constant shift of furniture from one area to another. Above we have our office/school room chairs in the kitchen. Makes sense huh? LOL! Lucy (sporting her painting clothes) was hanging out with Felix--like they were in a meeting or something.
Now in this picture the girls ARE in a meeting! They have been planning some business ideas, making lists, pinning things on Pinterest and just been busy, busy, busy!! Right now it is going to be dog treats--but no one has actually cooked up a treat as of yet, so I don't know what is going on. They are too cute though! I looked into the living room and was going to snap a picture of them busy plotting and then looked back and Fluffy had joined them. I love it!! Then I HAD to get the picture!! It's like he is saying--what about us cats??!!! The heck with the dog treats--what about me!
In other news, Mike is currently in Sweden. He got in last night (morning there). He was not able to sleep and had to jump right into work. He will be there a week--which is probably just enough time to get acclimated to the time change before he has to do it again. We are unable to talk much or text, so we are communicating via email (which is certainly better than nothing). I do know he has eaten reindeer and parsnips but haven't heard much else. He will be surprised to see the school room done, the hallway clear with some things hung and the downstairs as a whole actually looking pretty darn good.
One thing I like about moving is seeing our stuff differently. In each place it seems there are different roles and functions for things. One piece I have carried from state to state is an antique kids desk that I absolutely love. Since our house in Douglas we haven't had a great spot for it--but we do now!!! It works perfectly in our living room! Another example is a desk we have had since Douglas. It's been in the school room the past 3 years and I had the movers just put it in the garage as I knew it wouldn't work in the current school room. I was thinking it would stay out there until we did the rec room--but it is now front and center as our entertainment center!! Milk crates down below hold Wii games and stuff, a piece of glass that came with the house fits perfect on top of those to hold the Dish, DVD player, Roku, DSL, stereo, and Wii. I couldn't have designed it better if I did intentionally! LOL! Mike had to celebrate the great entertainment center by getting a new tv. We were way past due--our big box tv just wasn't formatted for newer tv. It cut peoples heads off, and cut off all sides. If there were words along the bottom we were lucky to see the tops of the letters that were tall, but that would be it LOL! Lucy and I dusted for over a year and that money was to go to a flat screen, but at Christmas we decided not to do that since we would be moving and didn't know where so what size was questionable. Now we know and there was a sale and Mike was all over it!! He was like a kid on Christmas! We have now entered the world of the flat screen, HD! We got a Roku box to make it smart and it came with Angry Birds on it much to the delight of the girls!! From the beginning with Angry Birds only on my little phone, to the "big" screen of the Kindles, and now on a 55" tv--wow!!!
Another thing I am learning is how to cook with gas. I love it, and have been amazed at how much faster things cook. It scares the girls a bit LOL, but they will get used to it! I have not yet mastered taking care of granite. It streaks! I clean a lot with vinegar and water mix, but that just isn't cutting it with this. I have asked and my FB friends have come through with great tips, so I have a grocery list for tomorrow and I will be ready to tackle those streaks when I return :) I can not find the printer cord anywhere! I use my printer all the time with school! In fact CC is here this Friday and I need to print to be ready for that, but it doesn't appear that is going to happen :( I will work it out--I just hope it turns up as I really don't want to spend money for that!!
