Wow!! I don’t know where the time has gone—but Clara is now 8 years old!!
Since the cake we got for Clara was such a bust, a friend of ours had a party for her daughter and had an extra cake that she gave to Clara (it was a mustache theme). Clara was thrilled with the cake and it tasted way better than the one we bought!
For Clara’s birthday we got to go to church and she got to sit with one of her besties! Each time we prayed the girls would hug and pray together. It darn near brought tears to my eyes!! That little girl is every bit as sweet as my own, and I love listening to their conversations :) For instance, after this I was taking the girls up to the kids church area and listening as the girls were having the most serious conversation about how they are both so funny and don’t mean to. It was hilarious as this was a serious conversation and yet it was so funny! I wish I could have taped it!
Also on Clara’s birthday, since it was on a Sunday, we had house church that evening. We put Clara in the middle of all the adults and we all sang to her. She was bright red and slinked away afterwards—it was so funny. She loved it though and has talked about that special treatment a lot since then!
Lucy did not get to go to house church with us that night as the middle school Christmas party was at church that day. We dropped her off with her stuff at 9 am in the morning at church and only stopped in to get this shot at about 4:30 pm (we had to drop off a thing of spaghetti we made for the party—and were on our way to house church). It was a pajama party and she had a great time!! Between church and the party Lucy was busy working on videos for LTC (Leadership Training for Christ). She has been very busy with that and is doing great!! Very proud of her! Proud of both of them—these are some very special girls!!
