Well, we dropped off an 11 year old at church camp, and will be picking up a 12 year old!! How is that even possible?
There was no way we could go all day on Lucy’s birthday day and not see her, so we went to Camp ChYoCa to see her :) All her friends and the counselors really did up her birthday great! They sang to her, she got gifts, and basically it was like a big party just for her :) I did thank the church people for having a party for Lucy so we didn’t have to LOL!
We have missed Lucy very much! Clara was so excited to see her sister on her birthday! She has been so sweet! With each meal she wants to save some for her sister (we convinced her that it was ok to finish up though since Lucy was in fact being fed :)
The days of toys for gifts are also over! Lucy had a fabulous birthday! She had been stressed about all the sleep overs she has had and the fact that she has no cute pjs (she wears old t-shirts of ours and boxers). She was right in that she needed something a bit better than that. We got her some cute pjs from her favorite store (that was thankfully on sale!), and she got a 3 piece luggage set (suitcase, duffle bag, and tote bag). Wow, what a difference from the days of games and toys!
Lucy is growing to be an amazing young lady! I’m not just saying that because I am her mother either LOL! She is compassionate, loving, kind, funny, smart—a wonderful daughter and sister, friend! I love the way she sees the world and she teaches me as much as I teach her.
Lucy loves to learn and has been doing a great job working independently! She is reading beautifully now (which has really improved this past year, thank God!), she is very artistic (a much better artist than I), she is girly and loves to do her nails, talk to her friends, and put together cute outfits! She is very social, is a great helper, and has a tremendous heart for the Lord! Her favorite place aside from home is church!
We are so very blessed and I thank God for the blessing she is to our family! Her laughter and humor are infectious! Joy radiates from inside of her! In fact, one of her leaders at church calls her Joy because he said he has never seen such joy in a person!
Happy 12th Birthday dear Lucy!! We love you so very much!
