Tis The Season….

To be covered in Mod Podge!

We still have some projects to finish up that I haven’t taken pictures of, but will post those later on.  These ornaments I made for all the nephews and nieces, and our pastor.  I was proud of myself because the idea came completely out of my own head!!!  I’m sure it’s probably been done before, but for me it was totally original  Smile

These are the metal discs that you remove from cans.  I’ve been saving the cans for lots of projects, but was tossing the tops for a while until I looked at them and thought there has to  be something that can be done with that.

I decoupaged Christmas paper to the front and then cut out a letter for their name to put on the front of the ornament.  I do not have a machine that will cut out things, so this is free hand and you can tell----but I think it adds to the home made look and feel of them.

On the other side I added a circle that I wrote on.  Again, the circles are hardly perfect, but I was fine with that.  Oh, and a ribbon for hanging with some bead embellishments and wa la!

My sister asked me again this year to do a paper quilling project for Addie  (actually, Santa has asked me to do this).  She asked for a horse picture this year.  Here is what I came up with and I was quite pleased.  I hope Addie will love it for years to come!  I accidently got a smaller frame then I intended so I had to scale the horses down a tad from what I was thinking originally.  I’m just glad I noticed the frame size BEFORE I did all the work!  I have an old curtain tie back tassel that I used for the mane and tale, colored with a Sharpie (one horse).  The cloud, sun, flower, and horses are all just quilled.  I did a similar picture last year for Lucy and just copied that one so it was easier in that all the thinking was done already last year (except the scaling to a smaller size).

Today we are having another homeschool family come over to get our craft on!  Well, the Mom and I are just going to visit, but all the kids are going to be working on making Christmas gifts and Lucy may be teaching them how to paper quill if they are interested!  It may be too time consuming to do much of that in one afternoon though---so we just may have to have them over again  :)
