Clara Turns 7!

 

I am still in shock that our youngest is 7!! 

Ever since last year when Lucy got a Nintendo DS they have been lobbying for Clara to get one as well since you can do things together from your own system.  We decided to go ahead and do it for her birthday this year and because it is an older system I was able to get one very affordably through Ebay.  It was coming from Japan and I was not sure if it was going to arrive on time or not.  We were so excited when that package came to us a couple of days BEFORE her birthday----yeah!!  I had previously told Clara that because of our financial struggles we would not be able to do this for her birthday this year.  She did not hesitate and said “that is ok Mommy, I’m good with just love for my birthday!”  Oh my gosh, I wanted to just cry!!  I told her that because I wanted her to be surprised because she knew that was the plan to get her that.

Well, she was indeed surprised!  It is the 8th today, this took place on the 2nd and I hear at least 4 times a day how thankful she is for her gift!

We went to Gamestop to spend her birthday money and get some games to go with her DS.  Lucy pitched in and they were able to get 3 games and they have had so much fun playing and pixochatting back and forth between their systems!

This was two days before her birthday.  We allowed her to open her gifts from Nonni and Pop when they arrived.  I mean, who has a birthday for just one day?

This is a human torso!!  Clara’s new best friend!!  We have been learning about the human body and this goes right along with our lessons and Clara absolutely loves it!  At first she said it was not going to hang out in her room, but since then has had her in there every day!  The organs come out and Clara uses the empty spaces for her Pet Shop animals to learn.  It is hilarious to listen to her play---in her Pet Shop playing voice (which is high pitched and screechy) she has her Pet Shops talk about the digestive system. 

She also got a very stylish scarf and hat, some earrings and bracelets!  She has me ball the scarf up at night to be a sheep she sleeps with, then in the morning she puts it right back on.  It looks adorable on her!
