I am so behind on blogging, but little by little I will get caught up
Mike’s birthday was on the 1st and he had a great one I love that he will always be older than me LOL
We started the day with opening gifts. There is the pencil holder we all made together for him.
The girls made Daddy cards and did a fabulous job!
Daddy got a gift card to Excalibur Family Fun Center in West Monroe. We were all so excited about going it was hard to keep the secret of the gift (Clara didn’t know beforehand as there is NO way she would have kept that secret!!)
Our favorite activity was the laser tag! We played that twice, and could have done it another 7 times I think, it was so much fun! Mike was pretending to be Jack Bauer from 24 (which we have gotten hooked on with Netflix!) I would see him down on one knee being so stealth. I half expected him to start diving, rolling, and somersaulting to get away and it concerned me as he could really hurt himself---you know, since he is so old now LOL He didn’t get that crazy though, thankfully!
Clara’s tactic was the parasite approach. She would run behind you, practically stuck to you, shooting the whole time. There was no shaking the child! I would not know she was on me like that and stop quickly and be plowed in to by her. It was fun to watch her do this to others too!
Not a great pic I know, but I had to add it because it represents a big deal for me. First off, someone else has the camera (which a year ago would NEVER have happened because someone might get the idea to take a pic of me and that simply was not allowed!). Secondly, I am participating (and loving it!). I was so excited to put that vest on with no fear that it wouldn’t fit. They did not have to give me the big ones either!!
Mike also got to play racing and shooting games (his favorite kinds)!
One thing about not always having to have the camera now and actually participating is that we do get a less complete account of our trips now Not pictured was our go cart adventures. That was so fun! Clara is still a little too short to ride on her own so she rode with Cheryl. Poor Mike had to sit out the first lap because his car died. I do have to say, I hate the signs on the back of the cars that say “Do not bump!” There really needs to be a combo of go-carts and bumper cars because it is so tempting----and very difficult to pass with at least a little bump
Happy Birthday Mike!!! We love you and thank God for you and the incredible blessing you are to us!!
