As we were organizing for this move we went through a box of memorabilia and I found my first McDonalds uniform from back in high school when I worked there. The kids thought this was the coolest thing! Since then, it has become a favorite for playing dress up. Clara sure can rock it out, huh? Got to love the shoes with it---if Dorothy from Wizard of Oz worked at McDonalds I suppose she would look something like that :) I know when working there I had days that I wished I could just click my heals together and go home :)
Oh, our poor Bella. In an earlier post I commented how it has been awesome to watch the trust build with Bella over the past several months since she became part of our family. Well, we took a backward step this day unfortunately!
Bella has been scratching herself raw on the sides of her face. The girls and I took her into the vet, which of course is NOT a favorite spot. It took several of us to hold her down on the table to shave the areas. She never tried to bite, nip or do anything other than get away. I was very impressed in fact! I felt awful laying on her as it is so different with dogs than it is with cats. They have so much more intelligence and awareness in their eyes and when they look at you it just breaks your heart!
Anyway, she is fine, but now we have to give her medicine several times a day orally, which is no problem. She will eat ANYTHING that is slathered in peanut butter :) We all enjoy the tongue exercises afterwards as she works to get the peanut butter off the roof of her mouth and anywhere else she may have it :) I also have to spray medicine on her spots and in her ears 3 times a day!! This is the problem---she hates to be restrained for this. It isn't a bid deal once we have her, but you can't convince her of that!
Usually, when Bella is outside and we go outside she happily comes running to us with tail wagging and happy look on her face! Now, she thinks I must be coming out to grab her and do something to her so she RUNS from me with tail down and looking pathetic!!
Look at that look!!! I'm sorry baby!!!
Right after this we went to LA for the week and the medicine (a steroid) made her eat and drink like crazy!! Not normally a big deal, but in a hotel when we have to walk her to do her business---man, we were up every few hours to walk her through the night :) She was still untrusting of us in the hotel room, but had far less places to run to and hide so we did get lots of love and petting/bonding time with her again.
Lucy sporting the hat, and the tie dye shirt she made in LA. Love it!
