Needed Gas

After the horribly tornadoes hit this are, the girls and I ventured out the following day. We did not get to see the images on tv since we lost power early in to the storms, and ended up being without power for a week. One of the things that I never would have thought about regarding power, is the ability to get gas. This gas station is not far from our house and was one of the only stations that had power in North/Central Al. People were coming from all around to wait for gas! I talked to one of the cops directing traffic for a while which is how I know any of this. We fortunately did not need gas, I was just trying to get past, but was fascinating watching this!

There was a major hold up when the station ran out of gas!! They had to get that truck in pronto to fill them back up. The cops were all there waiting for gas as well, plus emergency vehicles.

This is not a great pic by any means, but you have some idea of the line of traffic on that old back road waiting. That road turns and the traffic continues for miles beyond what can be seen here. I will post more on the tornadoes in another post. We do take so very much for granted!
