We have really been good about not spending non essential money, but we decided to splurge a bit on our way back from Asheville, NC and go to the Lost Sea Adventure. We did get a homeschoolers discount which was a great help, and it wasn't too expensive and was well worth it! We thought it was different enough, as we have been in many, many caverns---but never have we taken a boat ride on an underground lake.
The transition tunnel leading into and out of the cavern is bright yellow as they said this is the easiest color to help your eyes adjust to the light when coming out of the dark cave. It felt like being in a "yellow submarine" :)
