Apprentice Bridge Builders

The next two posts are of Clara and Lainey's bridge they made at CC. Each class was broken up into teams to design and build a bridge. This took two weeks to execute and then on the last day of CC was the moment of truth---how strong are the bridges?

I love the progression of these pics :) The bridge had to be long enough to span the table space. Then a cup was placed on it with 60 pennies inside. If the bridge survived, then 100 pennies, then 200 pennies and finally 260 pennies. If the bridge withheld all that weight then a book was used and pennies on top of the book. Clara and Lainey did the best in our class and were able to hold up 100 pennies, but did collapse with 200 pennies :)

Good job girls!!
