Making New Friends

In the state of Alabama, to homeschool you have to be a member of an umbrella school. I researched them for months before deciding on one that had a lot of activities available and also was reasonably priced. We are now a part of Everest Academy and we went on our first field trip with the group (not the whole group---there was a limited amount that could go on this one). As soon as I saw it had to do with horses though, we were in!

This trip was at Inspired Equestrian which is not far from here at all. Originally they were going to spend the night in the barn with the horses and then had activities throughout the day, but due to the extreme heat, not even the horses were sleeping in the barn---just way too hot in there. So that was canceled, and then the activities were pushed up to the evening instead of the morning and it was much "cooler" due to the rain we had---but HUMID!!

As soon as we got there the girls immediately started introducing themselves to the other very friendly kids (you know, those unsocialized homeschoolers--hahaha!!) We look forward to other field trips and activities with these kids (and their parents) as they were all wonderful!!

These two were so cute together!!! Clara is significantly bigger than this girl---Clara is 5 and the friend is 9!!! When you talk to her, she is definitely 9---bless her heart, but she is tiny!! She told me that people usually think she is 6 and that bugs her :)

Waiting to go on a horse. This dog cracked us up! Her name was Susie (I think that was it anyway) and she was always laying right in the middle of everyone and usually on her back with everything showing and without a care in the world!!

What a MESS---the next post explains why :)
