Traveling Cats

I don't have any pictures, but I am hoping that Lucy still has a video we took (she thinks she deleted it by mistake). We drugged the cats for their long trip to our new state. Mouse and Sassy have been through this all many times before, but this was a whole new experience for Fluffy (as far as we know anyway). Everyone took their drugs well and entered their carriers just fine. Before we even got out of Boiling Springs though Fluffy had his first butt explosion. Man---that cat STINKS too when he goes!!! The kids thought this was down right hilarious (me, not so much as I am the one who had to clean it all up in a parking lot).

I figured he was good an empty after that mess and we continue on our way. He made it to just about Greenville and again had a butt explosion!!! It was looking like it was going to be a very LONG ride!!! Again, the kids thought this was the best time ever and had a good laugh watching Mommy flinging poo in a parking lot. Fluffy was good and drugged though, as both times Lucy held him in the car and he was perfectly content and didn't try to get away. I was down to one spare towel at this point, but felt sure he HAD to be empty this time!

The rest of the drive was uneventful for the most part. Fluffy serenaded us most of the way and felt certain he could dig his way out of the roof of his carrier, but the carrier held tight and we made it all in one piece. Mouse and Sassy just slept and were plenty rested to check out the new place when we got there.

We entered the apartment and opened the carriers and Mouse and Sassy promptly emerged to check the place out. Fluffy on the other hand seemed to forget how to turn around and kept trying to get out the back of his carrier even though the front was wide open. Finally he accidentally took a few steps backwards and was out of the carrier as if by magic :) We were laughing so hard---what a goof :)

After checking things out Fluffers found his big container of food in the bathroom and he had a love fest with it. He was hugging the wheel and rubbing his head all over it as if to say "You are my best friend, food container, and I am so glad to see you here!" This went on for quite a long time and Lucy got some great footage of this Love Fest, but that is what she thinks she has deleted by mistake. I sure hope not! He licked it, rubbed it and hugged on it for a good 20 min, and nothing we did distracted him one bit. It was too funny.

Little do they know, but in a few days they get to go on another grand adventure---to yet another house. I am betting their favorite part (and the kids too) will be all the empty boxes!! :) I just can't wait to have empty boxes right now :)
