Trot and Swerve

There is Lucy in a trot. Hannah says she has a LOT of natural talent with horses. Lucy has the ability to feel when she needs to be more heavy handed and when to be light with her touch which will illicit different responses from the horse. She can vary the speed of the trot based on what Hannah is telling her to do, and Hannah says you can't teach that, you either have that ability or you don't.

Also what impresses us so much is that when Rambo gets spooked for whatever reason, Lucy does not freak out, she simply takes control of him, calms him and gets him back on track. She has no fear, but a healthy respect!

Now Clara got to join her for a ride. Once again, there is my mom with her camera---I love it!! Mom was so happy to see this and it was a real highlight of her trip. We were going to have to seriously consider taking Lucy out of horse lessons when Mike lost his job, but my parents paid for them for Lucy's birthday and there couldn't have been a better gift :)

They even did a slow gallop :) Way to go girls!!

Time to park :)

So Clara enjoyed her time so much that when we left she immediately asked if we signed her up for lessons too. She reminded us that she is now 5 and she would like to take horse lessons too. It broke my heart to have to say no---we have to see where we will be first and foremost before we can do anything like that.
