Praise God, Mike got a job!! It's a good position too---we said it was our time of "promotion" and God was surely faithful!!
Mike is actually leaving this Sunday to begin work on Monday. They want him to get started that quickly so he can get on the payroll and get holiday pay (which we didn't expect he would be eligible for so soon). We are not about to argue about that :) It will make Christmas morning much better around here knowing he is being paid!!!
I have had a mix of emotions with it all as we LOVE it where we are---we are comfortable in our home that we built and have done a lot of work to make it our own---not someone else's....BUT we know this is not our permanent residence--no where on earth is! So, we sow this seed of obedience and we KNOW that God is faithful to reward. We've said from the beginning, we only want to be right smack dab in the middle of His will for us, as we know that is the sweet spot in life and anything else is swimming up stream. We have swam that upstream route enough in life and if God's will is not for us to continue here, we DON'T want it!
On the other side of things, we actually like to move and explore new places. You just can't fully get a feel for a place until you live there---so, this will be a fun adventure. The girls are excited about it. We are thankful to homeschooling for making it possible to move at any time and for all with school to remain the same (well almost all---we will miss our Co-Op and Classical Conversations). I have been in touch with the CC guy over Alabama though, and they do not have a community in that area as of yet, there are 2 women working on changing that in the Birmingham area (I guess we can say there are 3 women now :) So, that will change ;)
The insurance Mike will get is more than half less per month and is way better. He also has excellent vacation and holidays. So, we are excited. It has taken me a little time to get my mind wrapped around it all, but I am good with it all :) Now the next BIG obstacle is to get this house sold!! It is a great house and we know it will be a great blessing to the next people!
So....Birmingham, Here We Come!!!
