Crayfish Day Finally Arrived :)

In Classical Conversations we were to dissect a crayfish. We watched the dissection on YouTube to prepare for it and ever since doing that Clara has been so excited about doing this!! I thought they might be a little grossed out by it all, but not at all!!! They were eager and excited!!!

We did the external checking while we were there. We had to leave at lunch time, so we took our crayfish home and did the internal dissection at home.

We were most fascinated with the intestines which are beautiful! I tried to get a picture, but for some reason the macro feature on my camera wasn't working this day :( We were also excited to find the extra set of teeth INSIDE the stomach---how cool is that?!!!

Clara was cracking me up because she kept saying she wanted to "insect" the crayfish. We were finally able to get her to say "dissect" LOL Lucy immediately got out their microscope to inspect the parts even closer :)
