My thumb is getting greener :) Here is our first batch of peaches off our tree and our first squash!! The peaches are delicious!!! So sweet and juicy!! They are small--don't know if it is the kind they are or if it is because it is a small/young tree, but they are GOOD!! The squash we will have for dinner (we are grilling) so we shall see how that is. A friend of mine said it is best to pick them when they are the size of your hand as the bigger they get the tougher the skin gets, so this one was ready and there are several others that will be ready in a day or two.
We have many green tomatoes, some baby peppers, baby green beans, the peas are growing and the cantaloupe and watermelon are happy and flowers blooming all over them (oh and the cucumbers too). We have got to get a trellis for the cucumbers, I did not realize they are a vine and they are growing on everything and keep attacking the green beans next door to them :) I am amazed at how HUGE a plant the squash plants are and I am going to have to transplant some pepper plants that are now underneath the squash plant :)
We have other plants that are blooming---the gardenias are blooming and smell amazing! The hydrangeas are blooming and beautiful. So basically everything that requires little of me is doing great, but the stuff I need to work on and water is dying. Isn't that awful, I have been so preoccupied with the attic and stuff indoors that I have neglected that stuff. Fortunately it is minimal as most stuff I have picked based on little need for attention (if it says it thrives on neglect---that is my kind of plant!!). The vegetable garden has even required little on my part surprisingly. I weed it, but not many weeds have emerged and I check it daily to see what is growing, but that is just fun :)
