It freaked Lucy out when the woman brought out a tool that reminded her of the saws her Daddy has in the garage. I tried to explain that it wouldn't make any sense for them to work to heal her bone only to saw it off in a month. She didn't move, which was good, but she wasn't going to watch either at first.
Starting to get a tad bit braver she would watch with one eye :)
What are you going to do with those big scissors? She was ok with it after the woman showed her that they have a very blunt edge and would not poke and cut her :)
Ta dah---the cast is off and she is FREE!!! The skin is all dry and flaky and she needs a long bath!! The lotion :)
The bad news is---since wearing the cast for a month, now her ankle is too weak to support her weight, so she does need physical therapy. She is not able to start until Thursday which is a real bummer, but if it wasn't then it wouldn't be until next week! So, she still needs to use the crutches to get around and it will be several weeks before she can run and play again. Fortunately, she should still be good to go by the time we go to Gatlinburg---so once again the timing is perfect!! At least she can scratch her leg and bathe now!!!
