Is It The Flu?

Here we are at the circus---this is where Clara and I spent most of our time :( She tried so hard to enjoy it. I asked her if she wanted to stay or go home and she said "I want to stay, but I really want to go home." You know a kid is sick when they ask to leave the circus...

We made a quick stop at His Radio since we were in Greenville to drop off the cards the kids made for the sick kids in the hospital for Valentine's Day. They were so proud of doing this and were really looking forward to dropping those off.

I got Clara to the dr. because I was thinking it was the flu after talking to others that had flu sick kids and the symptoms sounded the same. I wanted to get her on medication as soon as possible (and the rest of us, so we didn't get it). She was so good---they had to stick a swab down her throat for a strep test and then up each nostril for the flu test. I think they go up to the brain for that one too!! Clara stayed so still and good and just said afterwards---"it didn't hurt, it just tickled". After the nurse left she started rubbing her nose real hard saying "ok, now how do I get that tickle to go away." Bless her heart!

The good news was that Clara does not have the flu, but the bad news was that there was nothing they could do for her. So we keep giving her the over the counter stuff and she will get better...

Lucy was very supportive of Clara and was trying to get her to laugh and be happy in the doctor's office. It was very sweet!
