The Casting

First they put on this sock type thing, and cut a hole around the ankle area so it wouldn't bunch. Lucy said this was very soft and she liked it.
Then the wrapping began. It reminded us of in co-op when they mummified a Barbi. A whole lot of wrapping!!

Now are are waiting for the other nurse to come to do the outer parts. Lucy got to pick her color---there were lots of colors to choose from.

Of course, she went with green :) Here we have her at home, propped up, talking to Nonni telling her of her big day :)

Gee Lucy the cast is lovely. Hope you have enough room for all your frieds to sign it.
Many years ago Pop had to wear a cast on his leg also. Nonni says you are much better on cruches than I was. And no fair using the cruches as weapons on your Sister or your Daddy. Now as for your Mommy and your friends that's another story.
I guess if you had to pick a time to get sick also then this is a good time since rest, medicine and liquids are going to help you get better. Just think you can get ahead in your schoolwork, catch up on your reading, get those pictures you have taken in the computer and call Nonni more often.
We love you and promise we won't call you Gimpy. Naw, I better not make that promise. It is too great a temptation.
Get well soon and be carefull on stairs. Ask your Mother about how hard she laughed when her Father fell down the stars in CT.
