Flying Squirrel

We went to lunch at a friends house today and they have a flying squirrel their oldest son has nursed back to health, but hasn't yet released back into the wild. They put the little squirrel in a ball (like for a gerbil or hamster) and let him run around the house. This little thing was so cute!!! Oh, did the girls enjoy that!! They were crawling on the floor and would go after the squirrel, then he would turn and come toward them and they would turn and run from it. This went on for quite some time, and I do realize the squirrel could have been freaking out---but it did appear that he too was enjoying it :) I did not take pictures since we had it dark in the hall where this was taking place because the poor little thing is nocturnal so not only is it up in the day, but having to run :)
