Looking Glass Waterfall

Today we journeyed into North Carolina and were planning on going to Sliding Rock which is a huge rock slip and slide essentially. When we got there though, it was full, so we just stopped at a pull off down the road, got a map and found another water fall area that was really cool to play at :)



Here we are at the top of the hill. We had to walk down a ton of stairs (and then back UP them at the end :) to get down to the rocks and water below.
We got down and the girls and Daddy made it across the river to the other side. Lucy is quite proud of their accomplishment :)

What a cute picture!! The girls loved it here, trekking over the rocks and swimming in the COLD water!!! I decided I had to make an attempt over to the other side so I could get better pictures and could see the girls better. There were quite a few people here and they kept blocking my path. I quickly learned that Crocs are NOT the ideal shoe to wear on slick surfaces, and I got about half way across when I fell into the water. I will be watching Funny Videos' for that shot of me that I am sure someone got :) Anyway, the camera was in my pocket and like the rest of me, it too got drenched. I was able to dry it off and it took a couple more pictures, but quit working for a while after that. Fortunately, thank God, it is working normally now!

The camera stopped working after this. By the way, I am sitting in the middle of the river at this point. I figured I was already wet.... Makes me laugh thinking about it :) Lucy did swim in this bigger part of the water, but she didn't go all the way over to the waterfall, although she was close. I wish I could have gotten a picture of that. This other little girl and Lucy made fast friends and helped each other over the rocks and in the water :)
