Ceasar's Head

Our friend Cheryl came to visit for the weekend from GA and we had a great time!! We went to Caesar's Head State Park and did some hiking (a bit more than we intended) and visited another waterfall. There is so much of God's country to explore here and the best part is that most of it is free :) We pack a lunch and the day costs us gas money which is cool! The girls really love exploring and the waterfalls are a huge hit with all of us!!!

So, we had asked Cheryl what she wanted to do while here and she said to see a waterfall. We figured we would explore a different one this time. We accidentally parked at the wrong parking lot, so we had to WALK to get to it. It was worth the walk, and God provided a quick answer to prayer by sending us some people to tell us of a short cut. When I say quick too, it was funny! I was talking to Lucy about the importance of a positive attitude and how powerful the words we speak are. I came close to saying something negative about the LONG walk and I stopped myself and started thanking God for the short cut we just knew had to exist. No sooner did I get that out of my mouth and there was a nice couple sitting for a rest and they told us about the short cut. We laughed so hard, and it was such a great lesson for Lucy (and great edification for us too ) :)

We stopped off at Caesar's Head first and climbed around there a bit. There was a magnificent view of what seems the whole world :) Here is the family on a rock :) Got to love Clara's outfit. They have their swim suits on for the waterfall, and Clara HAD to wear that outfit. She can be very opinionated about her outfits and some battles are just not worth fighting. She would NOT allow us to button up the shirt though, and again, it wasn't worth the battle. She's still cute though :)
On the trail to the waterfall we found a pair of sunglasses and the girls had to model them for us.
Oh yeah, that is definitely what the outfit needed---now it is truly complete :)

Yeah, now that we are hot and sweaty there is COLD water to go swimming in :) The girls have no fear with this at all, so Mike is the "catcher" when the current gets them he is there to swoop them up! Mom, don't worry, we only let them go where they can touch and the current isn't too strong, and we have read the waterfall safety rules :)
I love this "Where's Waldo" picture. Cheryl has always wanted to get under a waterfall, so see if you can find Cheryl in this picture :) She was like a kid herself here and had a really good time.
